Juneathon Day 30 and what I learnt from Juneathon

juneathon_participant_logoDay 30, the final day of Juneathon, was a gentle yoga session using the Yoga Studio app. I really needed stretching out after spending yesterday taking a long car journey to walk quite a few miles along the beach. I’ve enjoyed the Yoga sessions and think I will continue with them.

So Juneathon. It’s been a month of exercise, activity and blogging and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed it. I’ve been made to do exercise on days when I’d rather have flopped on the sofa and I’ve been made to think of interesting ways of writing ‘I did yoga today’. I hope you have enjoyed my posts and perhaps tried some of the apps and YouTube videos I’ve done.

I really enjoyed my Juneathon experience and I’ve come away with one big lesson: I’m capable of more than I think I am.

I exercised for 30 days in a row and only on one or two days did I feel like I really wanted to rest. This has really encouraged me as I will be starting my half marathon training next month. It means I know I will be able to run three to four days a week and do one or two other forms of exercise. I feel stronger and more flexible and think that I have just laid a good foundation.

My tally for Juneathon is

  • Running – 12
  • Pilates – 4
  • Yoga – 5
  • Weights – 6
  • Allotment – 1
  • Legwork – 1
  • Walking – 1

Phew. That’s quite a lot of exercise. I also forgot to write about a swim that I did after my track work. It was only 6 lengths but was a good cool down gentle swim.

So tomorrow will be my first rest day in 30 days. Well, sort of. There are a lot of weeds that need digging up at my allotment!
