Grand Bank Holiday Run

This Spring Bank Holiday why not challenge yourself to run a virtual race of 5k or more and help the Dr Hadwen Trust find a better way to treat brain tumours?

This year me and my mum have pledged to raise £1000 for the Grand Challenge for Dr Hadwen Trust and as part of that pledge we have decided to organise a virtual race so everyone around the world can help fund this vital research.

The Grand Challenge

Brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer yet shockingly in the UK brain tumour research only receives 1% of the national spend on cancer research. Dr Hadwen Trust are raising money for pioneering research that will investigate new and innovative ways for treating this disease using human relevant techniques, all without the use of animals.

If you would like to take part in a virtual race, raise money for this vital research and get a medal for it all you have to do to is:

  • enter the race HEREALL surplus money will be donated to the Dr Hadwen Trust’s Grand Challenge
  • run or walk a minimum of 5km on either Saturday 28th, Sunday 29th or Monday 30th May (the Spring Bank Holiday weekend in the United Kingdom). This can be alone, as part of group or as part of an organised event and you do not have to run on all three days!
  • let me know your distance and time before 3rd June by emailing ku.oc1537809965.yppa1537809965hgnin1537809965nur@o1537809965lleh1537809965

All entrants who submit evidence of their run will receive a medal and may win a prize donated by some amazingly generous companies.

This virtual race can be run anywhere around the world and I really hope you will enter and help us raise a grand for brain tumour research.

Reading Half Marathon Update

The day before the Reading Half Marathon went something like this. Parkrun in the morning with my Start to Runners. It’s minus degrees C, it’s windy, there is a sprinkling of snow and they are using the alternative route due to flooding. Not so perfect conditions but good to put my race day clothes to…
