Juneathon Day 16 and 17

Two for the price of one today! And both similar days of activity.

Thursday 16 I was supposed to go for a lunchtime run with someone from work. Since my injury the running club hasn’t really happened and my colleague really wanted to get back in to the habit. So we arranged for a run.

However, I had really bad cramp in the night which left me with a really sore calf. I didn’t want to risk more injury so I suggested that we still go for a run but I do a bit of coaching with her. So we had a gentle run to the near by rugby field then I got her to do some running interspersed with different exercises. This gave me a chance to observe and instruct, I’m taking any opportunity I can!

At the end of the session she demonstrated some of the movements she does in her boot camp sessions. Bear crawls anyone? I think I must have looked like an uncoordinated new born bear cub, they were so difficult and then she made me go backwards!

On Friday I had my first session of a 16 week marathon plan with my two athletes I’ve started working with. It’s really exciting starting a new plan and after today’s session I feel confident that they are going to do really well. You’ll be glad to hear I didn’t make them do bear crawls!
