So I sort of stuck to the plan but not quite.

I had to travel on Friday and Saturday so instead of my speed session being 400m repeats I did hill repeats, with the added bonus of doing them with my mum. I’ve not done any speed session with her so it was really nice to do them with her. The beauty of speed sessions is that anyone of any ability can do them together. My mum did 4 repeats and I did 6, it just meant she had extra recovery time when I did my extra runs.

I ran my long run on Sunday with my friend who is also doing a trail half in September. It was the last long run we will be doing together before our halves as hers is two weeks before mine so we did her 10 mile run instead of my planned 9 mile run. This time I plotted the route and unfortunately took a wrong turning so after 5 miles we ended up very near the start of our loop. We had an option of doing the loop again or do a bit of exploring, so we explored. It was good fun generally knowing what direction we were going in but still getting a wee bit lost. At least I now know the connecting points on some of the footpaths and will do some more exploring next week.
