Quite a busy week with only two running sessions! Let’s hope I can squeeze in my usual three next week!
Tuesday was my first run, and I was joined by my mum. She was visiting me to do some Christmas shopping and I suggested we did an evening run. What I wasn’t expecting was a cold snap and temperatures falling below zero! It was a case of wrapping up warm, with two layers, hats, gloves and heading out undeterred.
It was a beautiful evening, the sky was really clear with a great view of the stars. So we braved the cold and stopped in the middle of a field to have a look at the night sky, even sitting down on the road to get a better view (something I would regret, it got a bit cold on the posterior!).
Wednesday was spent Christmas shopping, drinking hot chocolate and watching Christmas films!
Thursday was a lunchtime run with my running group at work. A nice 30 minute run at a conversational pace.
Friday I did the first workout of the week. All about core strength with a lot more advanced forms of the exercises. I’d like to say it’s getting easier but it’s not!
Instead of a run on Saturday I went on a 2 hour walk with my dog and the Staffy Club. There were about 5 dogs with a few more humans. It was nice to catch up with everyone as I haven’t been able to make it to the last few walks.
Sunday I did my second workout which was more core, this time with weights. If I didn’t have the plan I think I may have given up half way through. Isn’t it funny how having something written down makes you do it? It was a tough one and I was very glad to finish!
How was your week? Did you brave the cold? Did you do anything Christmassy?
