This Girl Can: Running

This Girl Can Running

You may have seen the advert for This Girl Can that has been shown on UK television since the start of the year.

It’s the one with the Missy Elliot soundtrack featuring women of all shapes and sizes getting hot and sweaty during exercise. It’s quite refreshing to see women sweating on television and women in sports clothes who weren’t trying to sell anything apart from getting fit. No ‘inspirational message’ intending to inspire you to buy.

The whole idea of This Girl Can is to celebrate active women and encourage more to become involved in exercise and as part of that they have now launched a running specific campaign called, funnily enough, “This Girl Can: Running“.

Running really is a sport for everyone and I think it’s great that they’ve started off promoting it as a key campaign. Running is something everyone can do, at any pace and over any distance. You don’t need expensive equipment and really all you need to start are trainers, a good sports bra and the desire to get out there and get running.

I really hope this new campaign inspires women to start running and I look forward to seeing how it evolves.
